Hangal Tharakeswara temple longest temple of Kalyana Chalukya



 Hangal is around 30 KMs is from Haveri and  Sirsi of Karnataka has beautiful temples of Kalyana chalukya's.  Tharakeswara temple is one of big temple built by chalukya during 11th century famous for its beauty.  Tarakeswara temple in longest of temple (50 Mts) of Kalyana chalukya.  Temple has Garbhagudi, Antharala and Mukhamantapa with 3 entrance.  But main attraction of temple one of big Rangamantapa adjacent to mukhamantapa. It has 20ft biggest Kamala in Bhuvaneswari known to be big in South India of it s kind.  Mantapa has 56 pillers with number of good carvings at all and Samvarana style Shikara.  Temple has Shekari Nagara style gopura with Shivalinga in Garbhagudi. Outer walls are carved in Kalyana Chalukya style.
